When painting a hard body (styrene) do I paint first add 1 coat of clear then add stickers followed by 2 finish coats of clear? My first painted styrene body and I'd like to do it right the first time!
Generally it's: Primer > Base > Clear then you can apply your stickers on top of the clear. You could clear over the stickers but it might turn messy or if you wanted to replace the stickers they would be under the clear.
Definitely put your stickers on the clear, not in it. If you clear the stickers/decals you'll destroy the finish if you ever try to remove them. You may not even be able to remove them at all which would mean stripping the entire body down if you wanted to repaint.
Also, wetsand in between clear coats with 2000 grit+ sand paper will really bring out a smooth shiney surface. Standard model spray paint and some Testors Wet clear do the trick really well "thumbsup"Slap on a coat of wax and you're done.
