Since this is finally nearing completion here in the next week or so, figured I should start a build thread on this. It starts with a welded chassis I picked up from a guy for next to nothing. I liked the looks of it so hell, why not right? Then I decided to just go stupid with it and started placing orders for Vanquish Curries. It runs on a standard wraith skid and even uses standard wraith length VP links and standard wraith MIPs. I normally use VP Method wheels on all my 1.9 builds with Proline Swampers but decided to give the Gear Head EZLoc wheels instead since I hate fighting the beads on Proline tires. Crawler Innovations foams all around of course. For shocks, my new favorites are the Proline Prospec slash rears. I use them on my wraith which I love and may even use them on an SCX10 type build I'm working on but use a 50/50 setup with a much softer spring rate. I also decided to go SuperShafty on the transmission.

Then I got to work on body panels. I used cardboard for the templates and aluminum sheet for the panels themselves. 1/4 in P-clips fit just about perfect as well to hold the body panels.

Then I used some vinyl sheeting used for model rockets and planes to add some color plus made a roof and hood panel as well.

Next step will be electronics. Ordered a Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster BL 3100kv motor, Tekin RS Gen2 ESC, Castle Creations BEC and a Tekin Hotwire. Went with the Tekin over a Castle MMP only due to the smaller footprint. I want to hide the electronics as much as possible. Possibly in a small project box painted to match the rest. That's all in the works for next week.

New motor from Holmes Hobbies arrived. I went ahead and installed it though I need to solder some leads to it. Until the ESC arrives (sometime next week I hope) I won't know what lengths to make them or even where everything else is going to sit quite yet. But it looks very nice "thumbsup"

Finally the rest of the electronics have arrived!!! I got the wiring completed and wow...Tekin is annoying. Having to solder ALL the wires on is kind of ridiculous for what you pay for the ESC's. Hopefully it's actually worth it. Of course the wiring is a mess as usual so I made a bit of a panel to hide the majority of it. I have to place the battery next to the transmission so I have to leave it fairly open which will make a scale interior almost impossible but I'll keep screwing with it and see what I can figure out. The good news...it RUNS!!! It's slower than my Wraith but it also weighs nearly double too.

If u wanna try a motor that will give u great crawlin and enough speed to send u up and over the competition try a sc4x tekin redline 4.5t.. I have that motor in my 15lbs tuber on 3s and it hauls with no over heating.

The Tekin Gen2 RS won't handle that motor though. The 3100kv Holmes motor should be plenty plus allow me to hang with the slower guys.

It's rated at 8.5T max. It may handle it but I prefer not to push it. Plus running 3-4S makes it plenty fast.
