Cheap, waterproof, sensored brushless esc?

Dude on my dirt bike in SoCal!!!
Whelp... I smoked an ESC in the first 20 sec of a bitching week long trip to awesome crawling areas in northern CA (nope definitely not pissed at all....). It was a HobbyKing XCAR 80amp that has worked flawless for 5 years. It was cheap (25$) and surprisingly programmable. I conformal coated it for water resistance. The thing that got it was the cooling fan wires rubbed through and shorted out. DOH. And it doesnt seem to be produced anymore

ANYWAYS.

Is there anything under then 100$ price bracket out there that will run a sensored brushless motor (obviously in sensored mode cus why bother with sensorless), somewhat programmable, and is ALSO waterproof out of the box?

This is running a 3S setup on a RR10 Bomber with a slower 1870KV 540 sized motor and used for general trail driving.

Really dude... pimping your own crap outside of the classifieds.

Im looking for suggestions of NEW stuff not someone's used crap with half assed splices on the main non replicable power wires.

It's not mine, dude. Just the first mamba x I could find for sale online with your $100 limit. Easy to clean up power wires.

Your complaining because you fried a cheap esc at the way wrong time, someone jumps in with a possible solution for you because you don't want to fork out the cash for something decent. Not sure why you gotta be rude. Especially looking at the esc, 2 piece of heat shrink and wiring issue fixed.

FYI you probably should complain about people's wiring jobs considering you cause the one you have to go poof.

If you don’t want used, Castle copperhead with a discount code might be your best option.

That Surpass shows a spec of Voltage Input: - 4.8V-9.9V.

Bummer, could have been a possibility.

https://rcworld.us/surpass-1-10-sensored-brushless-esc-160amp-water-proof/

Hmmm...

Found this 1/8th scale ESC for about $10 more:

https://rcworld.us/surpass-1-8-sensored-brushless-esc-220amp-water-proof/

Now, it will take all the way up to 6S!

But at that price, I'd be wanting a Castle, or a HH Crawlmaster for a bit more.

Trying to get smooth startup out of ESCs meant for go-fast rigs is always a crap-shoot.

Now that explanation could of been given without a random link to a random FB marketplace listing.

The "solution" given was a link to a used chopped up esc, and nothing more. The wiring on my bomber is clean and tidy, where the fan wires rubbed through were right at the frame of the fan hidden and it did so after 5 yrs of use with zero need to be touched during that time.

This might be looking like my best bet, any leads on discount codes?

not much outhere for sensored and waterproof mostly castle stuff
the hobby wing stuff thats waterproof is ether the axe or the fusion but there complete systems
i did find a surpass hobby esc that is both sensored and waterproof and under $100

definitly nothing cheap

Unfortunately you are echoing my findings.

Very true.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Time to continue the hunt.

Still your best option.

i agree since the copperhead still has some bugs to work out the mamba x is the best most reliable option and used is the only way to keep it under $100

the copperhead and the mamba micro v2 are having cutout issues so that kinda leaves the mamba x or the monster X on the other hand if you get a good cooperhead there saposed to have better start up and less of the castle wine

your other option is buying a cheap esc and conformal coating it again lots of cheap sensored units outhere you could buy 6 china specials for the cost of 1 mamba x and if your getting 5 years out of a china special 6 would last another 30 years im sure castle will ether fix there copperhead or we will end up with a coppermambahead x v3-13 or something
