Can you change channel 3 switch on GT5?

Is it possible to mod the channel 3 on a FlySky GT5 to a 3 position switch? I'd like to use channel 3 for a 3 position winch controller but it doesn't work on this radio since channel 3 is only a 2 position switch. If it is possible to mod the radio to a 3 position switch, would it have a problem with winch drift or can you just adjust the trim when setting up the winch controller?

I have done that with analog input radios like the TQi. I believe you need to change the software on the FlySky GT5 for that switch to be changed.

There is a work-around though. Hey'OK sells a nifty device that allows a channel with only two positions to control something that requires three positions, like a winch.

What do you do if you want to run a winch but your transmitter only has a two position third channel?

My new winch controller makes this easy. Just attach it to your servo winch motor or to your 3racing winch and you will be able to work it from your third channel. Each time you press and release the switch on CH3, the winch does the next thing in sequence.

1. Winch is stopped
2. Winch winds out
3. Winch is stopped
4. Winch winds in
5. Winch is stopped
