Can i use holmes trail master motor with stock traxxas esc

Yes all brushed Holmes motors works with any stock ESC.

Anyways

i have tip

If you like Crawling more than Bashing ?
I would buy 550 Crawlmaster Sport

these are 5slot.
They have more Torque.

Also i would buy better ESC.
hobbywing 1080 crawler ESC is very cheap.
And this comes with programmer card.
You can fine tune it .
Give your better aftermarket servo also more Power. Motor will have also overall performance alot more Performance
and other great Options needet when Crawling .

If you use lipos the best budget all in 1 is https://youtu.be/cWSdUgmOT4I

Depending on whether strictly crawling or crawl + trail, I'd go with a 12t or 15t. 2S or 3S might also be a factor you'd want to consider.

It's a problem when people post information in the forum as if they know best, when they do not.

A 3-slot motor with the same kv as a 5-slot will spin the tires (lose traction) off the line without very careful throttle application.

The 5-slot in the same kv range will creep off the line if provided the same throttle application and be less likely to lose traction.

The Holmes Hobbies TrailMaster Sport 550 21t is a great motor if you want immediate power to be able to break the tires free with a blip of the throttle.

The Holmes Hobbies CrawlMaster Sport 550 10t or 12t are best if you want to be able to creep/crawl smoothly from a stop - hence the name.

The Holmes Hobbies TrailMaster Sport 550 12t mentioned above is recommended for vehicles like the Traxxas Slash - bashers or high-speed off road vehicles, NOT crawlers.

You will likely overheat your electronics if you install a 550 12t motor in a crawler, no matter what the gearing.

Have a nice day.
