Very nice!
Is that the Orlandoo light bar? Curious how you hooked it up :)

Good eye! Yes, it is an Orlandoo light bar. You'll see in the video how I ran the wire. I'm using the WPL RES V3 as my receiver as seen in the G500 video (http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/micro-scale-rigs/627575-builders-notes-1-18th-mercedes-benz-g500.html), so I have a light unit built in along with winch controls and another on/off aux. I didn't put in a winch or other lights because this build is so CLEAN I didn't want to compromise it with more wires.

a few more pics...

That is really nice looking - one of the best Micro Sharks I've seen in terms of scale and fully fleshed out interior. Well done!

Thank you! As usual, I made it harder than it should be…the kit goes together fairly easily if you use the stock electronics.

Put on some telescopic shocks. Or I guess some call them double barrels? :???:

Anyway, they originally caused the truck to sit too high, but I liked the extra travel they provided. So to compromise, I used soft springs from a shorter set of shocks. That way it still sits nice and low, but can extend when needed. The fact the springs are a little short doesn’t affect anything at this small scale. It’ll also rarely be at full flex. It increased my travel by 3/4 of an inch!

I finally found a driver that fits! I grabbed this 3.75 inch GI Joe off the store shelf.

Micro Shark Driver (1).JPG

I really didn't dig the military vibe, so I tossed on a coat of primer and found a helmet laying around. I think it looks good so far, but I wish it was about 3-5% smaller. I feel like it's a weeee bit too big.

Micro Shark Driver (2).jpg

I'm going to paint his jumpsuit a dirty white and add some logos. The helmet is painted Tamiya Dull Red. I'll probably keep that color, but I still need to blackout the goggle section. I might try to add some styrene trim around the goggles to give them some "depth", then maybe add a nylon strap for some realism.

More to come...
