So I've had my Spektrum DX3C for about a year or so now, and the scroll wheel is messing up. I have to press super hard on it now to make a selection in any of the menus. It scrolls through the menu just fine, but when I push down on it, it doesn't work most of the time. The remote has never been dropped as I take excellent care of it. Is there any way I can fix it or get it fixed? It's not the plastic roller that is messing up, but the actual button inside the remote. If I call up Spektrum would they fix it for me?

I cleaned mine out with electrical contact cleaner and it is working much better. It still messes up a little.

So do you think there might be dirt or something in between the two contact points? Because I have to press really hard to make a selection on the menus.

Could be dirt, try cleaning the contacts as mentioned. These have been known to have problems with the scroll wheel/ and button

Yes. Rubbing alcohol is pretty safe for plastics and electronics. Some electronics cleaners will eat plastic. HTH

I would like to fix it myself than pay Spektrum to fix it. But I might mess something up. How much would they charge to fix it?

Take all the screws out of the back and slowly crack it open, don't think it would be to complicated on the inside. find the wheel and clean the contact underneath. slam it back to gether and hope it works. call spektrum for a price!!

So I gave Spektrum a call about fixing my DX3C and they said that since it's out of warranty now, it would be around $100 to fix it. A new DX3C is $100..... So I went to radio shack, got a new button for the scroll wheel which is what was broken, and fixed it for under $5! Now THAT'S how you do it! :D Old button is the white one, new one is black. Works better than when I bought it new now!

That makes me feel great, and I'm not the one who fixed it lol. Glad you got it fixed and posted pictures for someone else who might be a little intimidated to try it. Kudo's

Cheers,
