I have these three esc and motor combos, not sure which one is best, because two are Brushless. I have only dealt with brushed before. And how would you go about waterproofing brushless motor?

I have wraith I like to do some rock crawling and trail driving with.
Originally Used FXR with 35t and liked it but would like little more speed for occasional burst of speed, While still able to crawl.
With stock gearing in Wraith
Here are the ESC/Motor combos I have

Tekin FXR ESC, 35t Brushed motor

TEKIN PRO ESC, 17.5 Brushless motor

AND Traxxas VXL-3s ESC/ 3500 brushless motor.

Also if anybody Knows of a thread or where to find good Settings for tekin Hotwire it would be appreciated.

You can download a setup guide from tekin or look for ty from tekin on here for setup, but I personally would run the 17.5 rs pro combo. I would run that on 3s and gear it to run at a decent temp anything below 170 deg F Also I would add a bec to the setup running 3s will lower your bec amperage and if you run a decent servo you will need it. If you need a decent servo thier is a hobbico cs-170 that is about $90

Hope that helps, the brushless will be alot of fun and needs little maitenance.

If you want waterproof the traxxas is great, but it will not be as smooth since it isn't sensored.

Of your choices.. the rs-pro and 17.5 is your best choice for some speed and crawlability. Waterproofing will take a lil work, there are a few ways to do it. Being sensored brushless, the motor is more sensitive to the elements but it can be done.

Unsensored brushless is not an option if crawlability is a requirement.

+1 Go with the RS Pro/17.5 if you're not planning on fording creeks all the time. Better yet, keep the RS Pro and pick up a used Redline 13.5 from ebay or one of the RC classified sites for $40 or so. That is a very popular combo for the wraith.

Thanks For replys, looks like I will go with tekin RS Pro/17.5.:)
How sealed are brushless motors? For mud, dirt and little water. Do I need to water proof both or any?
I dont plan on completly submergeing it but dont want to fry motor or esc.
