Recently found this toy of mine when I was cleaning up in my garage. It must be about 40 years old.

I am making it a goal to put this body on a 1/24 truck but don't know which chassis is the best fit as I have never done this sort of thing before.

The dimensions for the Fisher Price tot are:

(Name/Wheel-Base(mm)/Length(mm)/Width(mm))
Fisher Price/107/162/85

Here are some comparably sized trucks:

Gelande II/131/???/108
Rocksta Basha/136/187/130
Losi Trail Trekker/122/175/94
Proline Ambush/115/198/95
HBX Devastator/100/175/???
Orlandoo Hunter/116/170/???
ECX Temper/121/165/95
Sumo Redcat/120/170/105

I think the Ambush might work, but not 100% sure. Help me decide! With any luck I will find the original drivers for the toy as well.

orlandoo would stick out less from the front/rear of the body. I think devastator has best overall dimensions, based on your specs above.

Interesting choice. I would have thought the extra 13 mm length would have disqualified it, but I guess that comes from height/wheels flaring out in from and back.

I'd think the plastic body on the Fisher Price toy is going to weigh more than the Devastators body, and perhaps negate some of its crawling ability. Of course, you could make that argument about every truck in the list.

Imo don't worry about the length. Especially if you're able to buy or fabricate a chassis. That way you end up with something looking more scale realistic. The sumo and HBX are identical, the Trekker and ambush are very close in size, the gelande is a bit wider and longer than a Sumo/HBX, trail Trekker is getting a little harder to find since being discontinued,
That leaves the ECX which is about the size of a Losi micro Crawler ( basically a shorter slightly more narrow Trekker) i think the Orlandoo may be the losi/ ecx might be the best option
