Hi guys, I've been lurking for a week or so admiring all the sweet rigs and dreaming up a plan for my own. I've ordered an rtr kit, the revell cj7 model, the aoshima toyota liftup kit (for the tires), and a 1s lipo via recommendations in another thread (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190365739773). Now I just want that killer looking pinch chassis!

So my question is, do I have to order the ac charger separately (losb0861)? Or is it going to be in the kit? And what charger will I need for the lipo? The idea of charging off of aa batteries is not appealing at all.

Thanks in advance!"thumbsup"

The battery looks good, as for a charger, i have the iMax B6, recommended to me by DB, after having gotten it, i do not look back at all, i ordered mine off of eBay for about $36 i wanna say, prices will vary, then i got my battery from Hobby King. You are right about the AA charger, it doesn't last too long, the LiPo off of a wall charge will get you great run times. With that battery, however, you may need to change the plug on it, hope this helps "thumbsup"

Sorry for noobing out on you guys,

It's my understanding that I'll have to reverse the wiring on that battery and it doesn't seem to include a charger.

I'm probably over thinking this whole thing but I just want to cover everything up front so I'm not waiting around for parts to roll in.

//Thanks Krazy I was typing while you were posting... :) I think you just answered all my questions in one shot.

You're right in your thinking - you need to charge the Lipo with a Lipo capable chrager, not the stock Losi Nimh Micro charger.

The battery seems reasonable but there may be better deals out there. I suppose it depends on the dollar or two savings you 'might' find and whether or not that's a decent battery. If it was recommended by someone who knows batteries it could be fine. One needs to be careful with those ebay purchases, especially with electronics that are easy to bate-n-swap or simply relabel.
I've read lots of mixed reviews--spanning several years--about the imax chargers (inaccurate charge ratings, inaccurate readouts, etc.). Not surprisingly, the imax 'box' looks very similar to the "Thunder AC6" charger that I use and like (also from China). It's possible and very likely they are nearly identical internally, but I've yet to find discussions regrading the same concerns as the thread I linked to, about the imax. It's also possible that it's been repackaged and [hopefully] improved upon a bit.

You may need to rewire a different connector; I don't remember what the stock Micro's connectors are. Many of us change out connectors to Deans--or in this case, Mini Deans-- anyway.

disregard my post, I couldn't open the link till now, I thought it was the Losi LiPo battery

i got the losi 2s lipo 180mah from my lhs and it comes with a charger that only takes bout an hour, so with 2 lipos and allowing motor cool time it works out rather well. it only cost bout $45

I think I'm set now. Thanks everyone! Now I will begin the painful wait for the fedex truck. And ups and usps...

hahaha, true that, i waited about 4 weeks for my iMax charger to come from Hong Kong, lol, make sure you measure out the battery size to ensure that it will fit on the car, my 500mah is too larger for a comp truck, but fine for scale, also, w/e charger you end up going with, make sure that it has a power cord as well, i used an old toshiba cord for mine from a laptop
