Battery charge/status indicators

Hello!
I picked up a couple of those "Battery charge markers" from Hobbyking. Basically a little tab you glue onto the battery with a sliding piece of plastic to switch between red and green (Discharged/charged. I also left it in the middle for "storage") And it worked great. ...Right up until they got wet and paper behind the sliding part just ripped apart or disintegrated in some other manner.

I know you can get the plugs that you put into the connectors on the battery to indicate charge status, which certainly is an option but since I run a few hardcase batteries and end up switching the cables back and forth between those. (As well as run a few adapters on some other batteries because I haven't learned to properly solder yet). That becomes a hassle.

So, does anyone have any advice on how to keep track of these things or have something to recommend that is similar to the hobbyking/turnigy tabs that hold up against some weather? Sitting on about 15 lipos at the moment, which kind of requires some organization to keep track of them.

Cheers!

Howdy!!! WELCOME TO THE FORUMS.

Before I had a 3D printer, I used useable cable ties to mark the charged packs from the discharged packs. After the pack was charged, I'd put the tie on there, and take the tie off when I put the pack into the RC.

Now, I print up caps for my Deans plugs, when I take the pack off of the charge the cap goes on indicating it is a full pack. I am changing over to XT60s, and I'll print up the same thing for them as well.

Something like this would work:

I've seen people use bread clips on the wires to indicate charged or dead. Personally I just twist the balance lead into the battery leads when I remove a used pack so I know it needs to be charged later.
