I think the stock CanAm cannot be used with a lipo battery BUT can it be modified to use a lipo? Is it as simple as swapping the ESC that is able to handle a lipo? If so, ....what ESC, lipo and any other stuff is needed to run a lipo on the Yeti Jr Can Am ???

The only thing the stock ESC is missing is the low voltage cutoff that would protect the LiPO from being excessively drained.

I run an external low voltage alarm (LVA) and 2S LiPOs.

I use a Venom LVA zip tied to the battery door. As far as batteries, I use Lectron Pro 2S, 20000mah batteries. I've run 20-30 batteries through mine with no problems.

If you run it with the TX set to 100% throttle, the stock electronics should be allowed to cool between batteries. 75%, you can run it all day.

As above, I've fitted a low voltage alarm (cheap as chips off eBay) and a 2s lipo. Does the trick perfectly!

So that's all you need to run a lipo in a CanAm ?? Any details on this low voltage part? I've never heard of them?

As far as i remember the original jnr. Had esc receiver combined may be the newer ones don't?

They do, but they are of a significant higher quality. I got a gen1 yeti JR, and a Can Am Jr, and the yeti esc gave up the holy smoke after only 2 packs. Housing came cracked too. Cheap, nasty. Luckily Igot it for €99.- RTR. So, one cheapie esc and RX later, It was àctually ‘hobby grade’ and despite its tippyness, bever let me down again.

Canam was at least a solid housing with actual cooling. No fan of integrated esc/RX, but the gen II isn’t half bad tbh.
