AR Accessories

I don't really shoot for the latest style, I spent a lot of time shooting, and re-configuring my rifle to fit me, and have only what I need. So far it's been 100% reliable since 2008. Not a single malfunction, and it's only been cleaned 3-4 times in about 7k rounds.

I have been thinking about a hand guard with less rail real estate on it, I only need rail for a the front sight, TLR-s, and knights handstop. Thinking a Noveske 13" NSR, or an SLR, or maybe a Centurion arms rail. I currently have a 12" hand guard, but with my long arms, I constantly find myself gripping the end of the hand guard with my thumb and pointer finger almost touching the barrel, I have burns on my gloves. A 13 or 13.5" hand guard should be perfect.

Probably pickup a new barrel some day soon too, shoot the LMT barrel until it dies, and have a replacement on hand.

Good to know. I ordered the BCM Large yesterday. And very nice 1911. I probably shoot 10 rounds of .45 for every one on .223. About the only tho g owe is my 10/22, I shoot the hell out of it at the pond. It has become my go to gun for snakes.

You will be happy with the BCM handle.

After Arizona I have lost all desire to do any shooting in Illinois. I'm planning to move to AZ in 2015, then I will get back into shooting and training. I wanna do more pistol classes, and I'd like to do a few shotgun courses. They also offer desert survival classes, and I.F.A.K. courses. I love AZ!

The point of the post was to ask about the charging handle and to laugh about all the changes people make before they get where they want to be. I don't shoot in Tactical Rifle or 3 Gun comps and I don't hunt with it. About all I do with mine is shoot armadillos and shoot steels and paper.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I'm not pushing training on anyone. I just find it fun. I prefer shooting targets I place around the desert, and doing my own little nazi zombie run n gun scenarios.

My rifle has been literally configured differently every single year since 2008. 2012 is when I finally got it how I needed it to be for my style of shooting.

I wish I had the physical ability to take a couple of those courses. With the new knees, I just don't think they would hold up.

The courses I taught way back when, were called Combat, now they are called Tactical. Of course there is a lot more to them now.

Sig Tac Ops, has a 10-8 slide stop, Wilson combat flat trigger, Wilson combat firing pin, Wilson combat firing pin stop, Wilson combat main spring, wolf recoil spring, and VZ grips. I also use Wilson combat magazines, they offer Glock reliability in a 1911 magazine.

Some day I'll get 10-8 rear sights with a ledge, and a trijicon hd front sight.
