So I've done ALOT of reading and I think a Holmes Hobbies Flow puller 500 is what I'm looking for as far as torque and wheels speed in my Class 3 scaler...I think. I'm running a Castle Creations SV3 esc and I'm trying to find out if this esc is enough to power this motor on 3S without frying something. Has anyone ran a SV3 and puller combo???

I haven't ran a sv3 but as it's a castle product and the HH Brxl runs on castle based boards, I don't see anything/reason it wouldn't work great for ya..

as for motor choice.. The puller's are Awesome! But I only run them in my 4lb comp rigs.. Lol..
And run the HH Trailmaster BL in my scaler and Sexo.. Where am I going with this? Lol.. Before I switched to the HH Trailmaster BL, I ran a 16t crawlmaster pro. While I think it had awesome wheel speed and could hold its own against the BL (as long as ur not trying to drag race on a flat!) Lol.. There's only so much of that speed you can use over the rocks and thru the woods, to grandmother's house we go! :ror:

There is the limited edition 27t 500 puller to look at or a 13t-16t..
I could be wrong, but from what I have ran, I think a crawlmaster pro would be more efficient in a heavier 2.2 scale rig..

Maybe JRH will jump in post on it. Or someone with 2.2 experience.

Thank you for the reply sir "thumbsup".

I have a HH Trail Master pro in a 12lb rig and it just doesn't have enough wheel speed for me, that's why I was looking at a Puller. This rig should come in around 8lbs dressed. I don't know enough about brushed motors to really make a informed decision on which one to buy. I've been doing ALOT of reading and what what I've read I THINK a puller would be best, but I'm really open to some input form the pros when it comes to brushed motors.

Brushless can be waterproofed, we do it to sensored motors and ESCs all the time.

You won't be able to get much more speed than the 27t Trailmaster (that is in your 12lb rig?) without starting to eat into brushes. The 13t Crawl type is faster without getting aggressive brush wear because of the 5 slot, but beyond that we typically recommend brushless. It's why we don't offer faster brushed motors, it's just not a good value when they wear too fast.

Yeah, I waterproofed my MMP and Tekin ROC for my Class 1 rig a few months ago. I just didnt want to have to buy anotehr ESC and motor for this rig. So in my 8lb rig if I wanted to stay brushed due to not having to buy another ESC, you would recomend the 13t crawl type with that esc on 3S?
