Adjusting Brushless motor timing

What do you do when your motor isn't marked clearly, I know I want this thing as close to zero advance as I can get it but which way to turn it? :?:

Hera is a pic of my motor 17.5 turns 2 pole sensored:

The movable ring will turn clockwise with the can held static, for timing closer to zero.

That's a confusing marking if any...
At least on this motor it's marked more clearly. (I have one of same type. Notice that the minimum timing here is 15 degrees.)

Leaning towards a 10.5 turn / 3200kv version of that one you posted

For a crawler I'd discourage tha choice. I use the 17.5T version and am not satisfied with the (lack of) smoothness at very low speed.
That motor is better used in my drift car, not using the sensor.

13.5t / 3000 kv range is my favorite.

That's a good motor turn for 2wd short course racing, not a crawler based vehicle.
