I am new to brushless motors. I understand that for crawling I must use a sensored motor. I have a Mamba Max Pro driving a brushed motor.

So what are the advantages of a 4 pole versus 2 pole motor?

Not always. If you want something that starts up like a brushed motor, then yes, sensored is your best bet. If smooth startup is not uber important, then you can work with non sensored but you will have to pick your esc a bit more carefully.
