Ok drivers, I have created the schedule for the 2011 season which will include 8 official VARCOR events, of which two can be dropped. Only the top 6 scores at the end of the season will be used to determine the Series Champion and the invitations to the 2011 USRCCA Championships. The series will start this month and end in June 2011. Again, I have chosen to alternate Saturdays and Sundays as we did for the 2010 Series. All locations after Janury are subject to change if we find any other locations in the state, weather, or site condition.
We are going to continue to run 2.2 comp. We will also run a 2.2 Sportsman if enough drivers show (3 or more drivers). In the past, there has not been enough interest to run a 1.9 Comp or Super class either but if enough drivers show, then we'll run that particular class. Remember, only 2.2 Comp, 1.9 Comp, and Supers get invitations to Nationals.
The scale class will be 1.9, 2.2 or both classes which is being determined based on attendance. The only change this year is that scale classes will be on the same day as the Comp events.
For now, 2.2 comp class is guaranteed at each event. We'll play it by ear for the other classes, based on participants. So, feel free to share your opinions on what you plan to run this year.
There will be a break from competition events in February and March which we will hold our Open Events. These two events DO NOT count towards the Point Series. One of the Open Events will be our annual Money Run. The second Open Event is still to be determined.
Here is the schedule and locations. You will see a large gap in December and this is based on holidays. And then the colder months, I have spread out the comps some. But basically, it's 3-weeks between each Comp Event. Locations are subject to change.
