1/6th Chevy Monster Truck

Well I have the 3rd member designed finally. Found the final gears I needed. Still needs some small details done but the majority of the work is finished. Just need to add some retaining clips and add link mounts to the axle housing. Then the search begins to find someone who will machine that 3rd member housing....

Final drive ratio came to 5.11. Everything turned out almost exactly 1/6th scale except that I couldn't get all the mounting studs for the 3rd to the housing and the access panel on top is slightly larger than the 1:1.

The chevy won't be seeing action until it gets good axles under it. They're in the works now so hopefully not much longer.

ORLY ?
Shoot me a price tag on those bad boys :ror:
I missed some of the chat about them so i wasnt sure they were still happening.

We'll see what happens. I'll tell you now they won't be cheap. Basically the drive train out of a truggy with Baja gears up top in the carrier. That alone is a fortune :D

I decided to give Nick a little help with the rockwells since he couldn't find anyone to machine them. I always like a good challenge. Here is the redrawn part I'll be machining. I will get some updated pics of the actual part when I have some free time at work. These axles will be super beefy

The carrier looks great Mike! I wasn't sure if you wanted me to let the cat out of the bag or not but I'm glad you posted. I am looking forward to seeing these come together.

Wow.. I'm keen to see where this goes next.
I have a similar size build, and am deciding between TXT axles, XTM X-Factor axles, or kyosho mad-force axles.
When its this big... its gotta be bullet-proof"thumbsup"

No doubt! If I were you I'd look into the Twin Force axles. They are wider than TXTs but narrower than the X-factor axles but they are stout. They just aren't wide enough for my truck or I'd be using them as well.
