Hello.

I wanted 1/35 scale LC70 RC car, but couldn't find. Therefore I decided to modify plastic model to RC car. Meng Model VS-004 1/35 LC 70 is modified using Orlandoo F150 kit.

At first, I considered to replace Stock front axle to F150's.
uc

However F150's front axle is too long. I gave up front drive and replaced Differential gear box to simple 6mm plastic pipe.
uc

Tire hub is cut to shorter.
uc

Inserted ball bearings into hubs.
uc

Servo is mounted on Axle. Because the stock plastic chassis is too weak against steering/vehicle impact mechanical stress.
I re-used holes on axle for 4-links & Spring dumpers for F150.
uc

I found the modified axle is too thick to put on upper side of leaf spring.
So I mounted the mod front axle to lower side of the leaf spring.

Rear axle is also too long than stock axle. And, there isn't sufficient clearance to put it on the leaf spring.
uc

So I cut the axle to meet the stock axle length.
uc

Inserted plastic pipe to fit ball bearing.
uc

Attached sliced plastic pipe to hub to fix the shaft on hub.
uc

Cut rear shaft to fit the stock axle's length.
uc

Made plastic blocks to fit axle to leaf spring.
uc

Assembled the Rear Axle.

Removed some blocks from Chassis to attach Transfer Case.
uc

Attached several plastic plates to Transfer case as spacer.
uc

Optimized alignment of the Transfer Case.
uc

Assembled the Transfer Case on Chassis.
uc

The motor hits floor of interior. So I cut the floor.
uc

Regarding the battery location, I considered to put it under trcuk bed. Made simple battery tray.

Here is current progress. Stock Tire seems to be too small on High-Lifted body...
uc

I focused Rear body part. Stock Tire's inner diameter is almost as same as F150.
uc

Replaced tire is good!
uc

Stock tail gate is movable, but weak against mechanical stress.
uc

uc

Replaced stock plastic hinge to 0.5mm Brass wire.
uc

Regarding Rear Bumper, for lighting, Drilled for chip LEDs.
uc

Assembled LEDs for Tail lamp and Winker lamp.
uc

To make the truck bed removable for Battery maintenance, the rear bumper is attached to Chassis side.
uc

Light works well.
uc

I made the Tail bumper with step by Plastic plate and pipe.
uc

I used Metal sticker for step part.
uc

1/32, 1/25 scale Toyota Decal fits tail gate.
uc

Also, the decal is put on Mud flaps.
uc

It's good impression.

Regarding front body part, I considered to open hood on Cab.

By using magnet, hood is removable.
uc

I think the stock front bumper is too simple. So I bought F150 option bumper.
uc

uc

Stock bumper is embedded into optional bumper.
uc

So the stock bumper's mount mold can be reused.
uc

uc

I made hinge to make door movable.
uc

uc

Like this, door can move.
uc

1mm x 4mm magnets are attached to the backside of door & body to close the door.
uc

Assembled the door.

Today, I tried to attach Roof Luggage Rack.
uc

Stock Luggage Rack is for 1/35 OH35A JEEP. So I cut/modified it to fit LC70 roof.
uc

uc

Assembled Light bar.
uc

uc

For Head lighting, Drilled holes on light bucket for LEDs.
uc

uc

uc

Also, assembled Fog lamps on Front bumper.
uc

uc

For Winker Lamps, Drilled side hols.
uc

I configured M5 Stamp MCU for 0.5Hz Blinking Winkers.

uc

Changed location of the Exhaust pipe.
uc

I also made a spare tire holder for truck bed.
uc

2mm bolt is used to fix the tire.
uc

By using removable paste, the tire holder is attached to the truck bed.
uc

uc

Finally I completed my LC70.
