New here and might be dumb question but is there anyone that has a comparison of 1/10 bodies to 1/12
Thanks

1/12 is basically Tamiya and some RC4wd RC models, meaning 180-200mm wide bodies
1/10 in theory all of the other big names (Axial, Traxxas, Hpi, VP, etc) with 200-220mm and over width.

Tamiya 1/12 bodies also have shorter wheelbase compared to 1/10
See for example the iconic '79 Hilux from Tamiya (later copied as Trailfinder by Rc4wd) has 285mm wheelbase, compared to vast majority of Axial Traxxas etc ranging between 300mm and 324mm, most commonly 315mm

You can also search for video comparison between CC02 (tamiya 1/12) Vs Traxxas Trx4 (1/10 on paper, almost 1/9 in reality)
For example (after 6'10")

scale can be different things in tamiya land its mostly about body size but in crawler land its more.about whats under the body

in cralwer.land a 12th acale is more about axle size transmission size and motor size
the capra utb 18 uses 1/12 scale axles and.trans and motor as dose the losi mini crawler the thunder tigers the redcat everest 16 the temper and the berage

1/10 scale is basicly eveything on 1.9s the trx4 for exsample most bodys are 1/8 scale but the axles and trans and motor are 1/10 scale most axial bodys are 1/8 scale too but again the drive train is still 1/10th

the axial ryft is axials 1/8 scale the axles although arent that much biigger than a wraith ar60 axle they use.bigger shafts and stronger gears the trans mission is bigger and uses a biger motor i have a set of ryft axles under a 1/6 scale jeep and they fit the body perfictly were as the ar60s needed wheel wideners to look right

the scx6 parts are just huge the body isent that much bigger nither are the wheels and tires compaired to 1/8 scale but the parts are easyly twice the size of the 1/8 scale parts

same when talking about the 1/24th scale the axles and trans fit 1/16 or 1/18 scale bodys perfictly but the the size of the axles and trans are the same as in 1/24 like the fms minis the losi micros and the scx24 and the element24
the axial 1/24 and the trx4m are about the same size but are sold as differnt scales one at 1/18 and 1 at 1/24 scale even though the wheel size is the same the parts inside them are differnt scales the trx4m uses slightly bigger parts

so scale in crawler land is more about the size of the parts that goes in to making the rig than the size of the body
