Do you cover your links?

really dude your afraid of scratching the links? i wouldnt bother its a rock crawler they get scratched but sure go ahead and try it it my slide better over the rocks

Some people put the plastic pen cases over their links. Not really to prevent scratches, but more for the plastic/sliding type of effect. I am sure if you search around a little you may run across pics of it.

Get some delrin ones when you are done sliding on the aluminum ones... plenty of ones out there to choose from and much stronger than the plastic ones.

I have an RTC and I love the Delrin links. I plan on changing to high clearance delrin links pretty soon.

Custom make some SS links. They slide really well and and do not scratch up all that bad. use 1/4in. ss rods over 8/32 allthread and your good to go. Or you can go the delrin route.

All I can say is, Staples Pens. 60 pack for $4.00, can't go wrong. Yeah, they are more for sliding then scratching. Welcome to rock crawling, just a warning, it's addicting!

I found that the bic pen bodies desinagrate after about a good 6 hrs of crawlin. I don't know about other pens though. I'd say that delrin is your best bet though.

You can pick up 6 foot sections of delrin rod at this website.

These are the ones I am gonna pick up when I get all the dimensions on my rig figured out. You can then hit up Jeepindoug and get a link drill bushing that will help put a pilot hole in your links for the set screws.

You ca get it for $.50 a foot and if you are a member you can get it for less I am assuming. I haven't signed up yet but I will in the next couple of weeks.
