| BinaryTerror 4 Link/Battery Plate Template
Finally got this all squared up and the way I want it. I made it with 1/16" (2.5mm) 7075 Aluminum, but hey you do what you want. The templates printed a perfect 1:1 on all my work printers (I'm the IT geek). I left some dimensions on it for your verification. Let me know if you are having issues guys. The green X's are for the countersunk screw heads, be sure you countersink the right side! Also I use X cross hairs where the holes go for better center punching and eliminate the cirlces. You need to use about a 1/8th drill for the 3mm screws. Let me know if you want changes to it, I can do that pretty easy. Link to Download: http://www.binaryterror.com/binaryte...s-template.pdf Recommend Adobe version 6 or higher! |

Nice. Prints out to the right scale on my printer. A couple of suggestions: 1. Could you put a scale on their (i.e., a line indicating 1 inch length)? This would make it easier for those who need to enlarge/shrink if their printer doesn't print to scale. 2. Could you do the front plate without the battery part (yeah, I could just draw a straight line, but I'm lazy!). This would serve two purposes, the right plate for those who run the batteries on the axle, and a template for those who want to run rear steer. Otherwise, nice job! Chris |

I could do both... #1 I put dimensions, 40mm and 44mm as marked. If those are off, they really shouldn't be unless you are manually changing the acrobat page settings. Measure the 44mm and 40mm mark...thats at least why I left em there for the scale #2 Why not just make 2 rears? They are the same front and rear... |

I agree with Ecoli...you need to put a scale meter on there, the longer the better in my opinion. If you only provide a small length to check scale by, the possibility of it being off is still there. If the scale is only off by 1mm over a 50mm length, you wouldn't know it until you were able to measure out to 50mm. If you only had a 10mm scale marker to go by, then it would seem like the scale was right on. Being that there are many print settings that any persons printer could be set on...this tells them if it has printed the wrong size so they can readjust their print settings and try again. |

Larger is for the 4 link front with a battery tray so you can place the batteries over the front axle. Smaller one replaces the stock piece to give you 4 link. It could be used either front or rear to give you a 4 link set up. |

BinaryTerror, nice job. Helps us all. Is this designed to use the stock upper links with the extra ball ends in the kit or new construction?

Do you have scripting disabled in your browser? The link worked fine for me.

Never mind, it works at my other house. can you add X's for the other holes that go into the housing?? like the axial plate? Last edited by yotachump; 03-08-2008 at 11:01 AM. |

i have an easier solution... i made my own 4 link setup using my old lower links (i got new bent links for the bottom) i drilled two holes close the edge of the existing servo plate and countersunk the holes. bought some countersunk screws and lock nuts. drilled new holes on the chassis for the uper links. (take time to measure so that the steering angle is straight) i had to shave down abit of the mount for the Y connector, but i wanted to keep it to make sure my servo plate stayed in its place. ill show some close up pics of my servo plate when i get a chance but this is the only pic that shows the setup |
