I have a few of these 1/12 highly detailed FJ Cruiser bodies. Perfect for the Losi Mini Rock Crawler running gear and axles. After building this bullet proof one on a rare K2 Point 5 chassis and 1.5 wheels and tires, my 6 year old son wanted one. So I built him one on a TCS L-Trail chassis. I put 1.9 wheels and "cheater" tires on for him and this thing goes over anything. He has so much fun driving it. I had another Losi MRC and another L-Trail chassis so why not? I decide to whip up another one to beat on. On to the Pumpking FJC build, just in time for Halloween The body Goodies: Metal axle lockers front and rear. Shaved rear axle, XVD steel shafts up front, full bearings, clocked aluminum Cs, aluminum steering knuckles and aluminum steering links. basically fully built MRC axles Front axle More to come… This size body is better suited for 1.5 wheel/tire combo but I put this in the 1.9 section because I plan on using Losi Claws so I can keep up with my son. Not going for a super scale details rig here, just a fun beater that can withstand some harsh wheeling, hence the built axles. #lessscale #morefun Last edited by eddievedder; 10-14-2015 at 08:17 AM. |

I spent some time trying to tidy up the chassis and electronics. I laid some paint last night. It was "gloss" Pumpkin Orange, but oddly it dried flat. I resprayed it and it was quite glossy then once completely dry it was flat again. I was upset at first but then I started to like the flat pumpkin. I picked up some Black Chrome Losi 1.9 wheels really cheap and New Losi Rock Claws (blue) with foams for $4.70 for a pair. Less than $2.50 per tire! A few pics A 60T Dynamite MRC motor spins he wheels. Chassis set up. Rear drive shaft is stainless steel, front is a custom made shaft to fir the longer wheelbase. I made some rear wheel wells too. Im not using most of the interior that it came with. Here is the flat Pumpkin, or Pimpkin as I'm calling it now. Oh and I cut the body up a bit. |

Some flat black accents to go with the Halloween theme. Added a green Hi Lift jack. Needed some green too since pumpkin stems are green. Im going to whip up some sliders or maybe some sort of rocker protection. I need to put the head and tail lights back in and paint the trim details, add decals for extra crawl control, etc... |

Very nice, loving the Orange. I rock the 2.2 Rock Claws on one my rigs as well - I know they are not scale, but they have amazing grip. Truck does indeed "Go anywhere" |

Ok so my son and I tested it on the rocks for the first time and boy this thing is like a little billy goat. Just keeps climbing. I got pretty lucky with the stance being somewhat wide and low and the even weight around the rig. It really never rolls over. We had a lot of fun playing toy trucks. A few pics. |
